At the undergraduate level, UIN Walisongo hosts students from countries including Thailand, Malaysia, Somalia, Yemen, China, Cambodia, Nigeria, Senegal, and several others. Many of these students are recipients of UIN Walisongo scholarships or scholarships provided by external institutions, while others are self-funded. They pursue studies across various faculties, including Islamic Economics and Business, Science and Technology, Education and Teacher Training, Da’wah and Communication, Social and Political Sciences, Sharia and Law, and Ushuluddin and Humanities.
The University’s graduate programs also attract international students, particularly from Thailand, Libya, and Turkmenistan, who are enrolled in master’s and doctoral programs in Islamic Studies and related disciplines. These programs contribute to the University’s vision of becoming a centre for advanced Islamic scholarship with global relevance.
In addition to regular degree programs, UIN Walisongo actively welcomes international participants through non-degree mobility programs. Students from numerous countries—including Afghanistan, Pakistan, Malaysia, Egypt, Uganda, Thailand, Libya, and others—participate in academic exchanges, short courses, cultural immersion activities, and collaborative learning initiatives. These programs enrich the international learning environment while promoting mutual understanding and cross-cultural engagement.
The diversity of nationalities represented at UIN Walisongo demonstrates the University’s growing international reputation and its dedication to providing an inclusive academic community.
